The Interstate 35 in Dallas, abbreviated "i-35 Dallas", is a major interstate highway route that travels in/out of the downtown Dallas area. The i-35 travels across the metro Dallas area generally in a north/northwesterly - south direction.

The i-35 in the Dallas area is well known as the "i-35E" or "i-35 East"... reflecting the fact that the i-35 splits into 2 sections (an east and west section) as it approaches the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area... the west section (i-35W) travels through Fort Worth, the east section (i-35E) travels through Dallas.

Sections of the i-35 in the Dallas area are also called/known as the "Stemmons Freeway", and the "RL Thornton Freeway".
